Meet Randy

Hi, I’m Randy — the numbers guy turned creative partner behind Bear Root Cottage. 
 
After more than two decades in IT, business intelligence, and strategic planning, I’ve learned that growth — whether in business or in life — is all about nurturing what matters most. I’ve spent my career helping organizations find clarity through data, build strong teams, and turn good ideas into something lasting. 
 
Now, alongside Malinda, I get to bring that same sense of purpose to something a little more hands-on (and a lot more beautiful). While she brings the artistry, I bring the systems, the spreadsheets, and the steady balance that help ideas bloom. 
 
Raised in Tumwater, Washington, and shaped by years of leadership and problem-solving, I’ve always been drawn to projects that blend heart and structure — the kind where creativity meets strategy, and purpose takes root. 
 
When I’m not behind a dashboard or helping things run smoothly, you’ll find me chasing speed, cheering for our kids and grandkids, or just enjoying the simple moments with Malinda and our two dogs. Bear Root Cottage is our shared dream — one part passion, one part precision, and a whole lot of love.
